Cargo Insurance

Cargo Insurance

Our Company offers insurance of cargo transported by any means of transport around the world. As part of this coverage, our Company will arrange compensation for damage related to the loss or damage caused to the cargo during transportation.

You can choose one of three standard coverages that comply with international rules and insurance conditions:

1. Insurance under Institute Cargo Clauses (A) (with liability for all risks) – losses from damage or constructive total loss of all or part of the cargo that occurred from any cause; losses, expenses and charges under general average; all necessary and reasonable expenses incurred to save the cargo, as well as to minimise the loss and to determine its amount.

2. Insurance under Institute Cargo Clauses (B) (with liability for partial average) – losses from damage or constructive total loss of all or part of the cargo attributable to:

  • fire, storm, tornado, other natural disasters, as well as an explosion;
  • average, collisions of ships, aircraft, other conveyances;
  • vessel or craft being stranded, grounded, sunk or capsized;
  • overturning or derailment of land conveyance;
  • collision or contact of vessel, craft or conveyance with any external object other than water;
  • discharge of cargo at a port of distress;
  • earthquake, volcanic eruption or lightning;
  • losses, expenses and charges under general average;
  • jettison or washing overboard;
  • entry of sea, lake or river water into vessel, craft, hold, conveyance, container or place of storage;
  • total loss of any package lost overboard or dropped whilst loading on to, or unloading from, vessel or craft.

3. Insurance under Institute Cargo Clauses (C) (without liability for damage, except in cases of an average) – differs from insurance under ICC (B) by the absence of four coverages:

  • earthquake, volcanic eruption or lightning;
  • jettison or washing overboard;
  • entry of sea, lake or river water into vessel, craft, hold, conveyance, container or place of storage;
  • total loss of any package lost overboard or dropped whilst loading on to, or unloading from, vessel or craft.

As part of cargo insurance, you can also insure the interim storage of your property in a warehouse. This program provides insurance coverage for the property against all major risks for a period of 60 days. This period also covers all losses associated with cargo loading and unloading.
